Josh McGuire Records Pair of Twelfth Place Finishes at
PRP; Preps for Doubleheader Weekend!
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and the Stephens Motorsports
team were in action over the 4th of July holiday weekend at
the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Mid-Atlantic
Championship Series (MACS) sanctioned two high-profile events
on Saturday and Sunday, July 5-6 at PRP. In the $10,000 to
win 'Pepsi 75' on Saturday night, Josh was ninth fastest in
qualifying and later won his heat race behind the wheel of
his #34 entry. After starting from the outside of the front
row for the 75-lap main event, Josh sported a great racecar,
but unfortunately suffered mechanical woes that led to a twelfth
place performance in the 'Pepsi 75.'
Due to the mechanical problems with the #34 car on Saturday,
Josh wheeled Tim Hall's #11 car in the Sunday finale at Portsmouth.
The Grayson, Kentucky native rallied to finish fifth in his
heat race and advanced to the $5,000 to win 'Independence
Day 50' by virtue of his second place effort in the B-Main.
After starting nineteenth on the grid for the 50-lapper, Josh
was able to gain seven positions en route to another twelfth
place finish. You can view complete results from the doubleheader
weekend at PRP online at www.macsracing.com!
With the Stephens Motorsports team taking the next several
weekends off to rebuild their motor arsenal for the high-paying
races in August, Josh will take the opportunity to drive for
Tim Hall once again this upcoming weekend. They will travel
to the Rocky Top Raceway in Coal Grove, Ohio and the Tyler
County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on July 11-12.
Rocky Top will play host to the $5,000 to win 'Engines, Inc.
50' on Friday night, while Tyler County welcomes the Independent
Racing Series (IRS) for another $5,000 to win show on Saturday.
